I want to let you in on a little secret….one of the oldest areas in San Diego with one of the best locations is about to get the credit it deserves…. ! For years now, people have either not heard of Logan Heights or found it less than desirable in terms of real estate. And in my opinion, all of that is about to change. Situated in a prime location near downtown and close to the Coronado Bridge, the area of Logan Heights and Barrio Logan is finding itself morphing into the cool, underground area to grab a bite to eat and experience some of San Diego’s most vibrant culture. With places like Border X Brewing and Salud to grab local craft beer and some of the best tacos in town, this is definitely an area you should check out. And while home prices are steadily on the uptick, it’s still one of the more affordable areas, although it’s my bet, it won’t last long. There are a few homes currently for sale in the hopper, and if you are curious to know more about them, email me at: Carmen@GreenMeansGrow.com. Enjoy the area while it’s still relatively unknown! -Carmen Harris, Real Estate Consultant
Today I want to let you in on a little secret called, “Golden Hill.” While most of you out there have heard of South Park by now, you may not know that that neighborhood plus the surrounding area all used to be known as “Golden Hill.” By now though, little pockets have began to identify themselves and Golden Hill has now become more established on it’s own. If walkability is important to you, than look no further. From the Starbucks on the corner of Broadway and 28th, which also hosts a Saturday Farmer’s Market, to your local coffee house, Krakatoa which sits right next door to one of San Diego’s landmarks, “Turf Club.” Or maybe strolling the park with views of downtown at Golden Hill Park and grabbing a slide of New York style pizza from Luigi’s is more your thing, you have all the options! To find out my top two picks of homes currently for sale in Golden Hill, email me at: Carmen@GreenMeansGrow.com. -Carmen Harris, Real Estate Consultant & Neighborhood Expert!
The Festival of Beers, now in it’s 9th year, is the perfect marriage of two of San Diego’s best known exports — music and craft beer. San Diego is one of the most dynamic beer cities in the United States, arguably the world, with a diversity of style and technique that is unmatched. With the participation of the El Cajon Boulevard Business Improvement Association, community business owners and local brewers and performances from local bands who match the brewers in diversity and dynamism, this event has grown into the Foundation’s largest single event fundraiser and helps keep participatory music programs active in our communities. The mission of the San Diego Music Foundation is to enrich San Diego’s diverse and creative music community through music education for youth, professional development for current and emerging industry professionals, live performances for the San Diego public, and recognition for San Diego artists of exceptional merit or service. Chartered in 1991, the San Diego Music Foundation was created to make music performance accessible to children of need in San Diego County by providing them with a hands-on vehicle, the guitar, to express themselves creatively. Over its 20+ year history, the organization has served over 60,000 K-12 students county-wide from San Onofre to San Ysidro. In subsequent years the organization has broadened its focus and service areas, providing forums to increase local musicians’ understanding of the music business,

If you’ve been even curious about buying a home, you may have notice there has not been much inventory in San Diego the last few months. This is typically for the winter season, as the holidays and New Years tend to cause a slow down in the market. However, things are creeping up now that we are heading into Spring. The good news is inventory is up, the bad news is that more buyer’s will be flooding the market as well. And the more buyer’s out there, the more competition which can drive home prices up. As the trend tends to go, once we hit summer, it’s a frenzy for the available homes out there. So what does that mean for you today? Now is the time to buy! If you can get yourself into a home before summer, you’ll be in a great position to find the right home for the right price. Need help? Contact me at: Carmen@GreenMeansGrow.com Happy House Hunting!
