It’s baaaack! One of my all time favorite neighborhood events is, the South Park Walkabout, is coming this Saturday, October 3rd from 6:00pm-10:00pm. If you haven’t checked out the walkabout yet there is no reason not to! There is FREE transportation throughout the neighborhood. You are supporting local businesses, while at the same time, getting to scope out that Target Express that has the neighborhood in an uproar, and best of all, you can sample great food and drink from all over. So where exactly does all the fun go down? The Walkabout highlights both the south and north end of the South Park business district.  The north end of our district starts at Kalmia and 30th St. and extends to the south end at Beech and 30th Street.  A few ways to get to South Park –  Take 5 South to 94 East to the 28th Street exit.  Turn right on 28th and then right on Beech Street Take 5 North to the Pershing Drive exit.  Turn right on 26th Street.  Head up the hill and make a  left on A Street.  Another left on 28th Street and a final right on Beech Street. Take 805 South or North to 94 West  and exit on 28th Street.  Turn right onto 28th Street and right onto Beech Street The 30th Street and Beech Street corridor is the south end of South Park. If

  • South Park’s New Brew Pub

    Feb 2, 15 • CarMama • Neighborhood InformationNo CommentsRead More »

Just when I thought South Park couldn’t get any better, I heard about the newest additional to my favorite neighborhood and it’s right up my alley! (No, it’s not literally in an alley, but you get what I’m sayin’.) According to Uptown News, “Founded by San Diego craft beer pioneer Mr. Scot Blair, (also founder of Small Bar and Monkey Paw Pub and Brewery) Hamilton’s has served as a neighborhood bar and craft beer academy for drinkers far and wide. They continue to serve up world-class ales to novice and expert craft fans from all over the world. I have been lucky enough to take in the sights and suds as a Hamilton’s regular. Blair is at it yet again with the opening of the brand new restaurant and brewery, South Park Brewing Company, located right next door to the beloved Hamilton’s Tavern. If you are at all aware of the current locations owned and operated by Mr. Blair, you will understand the expertise and meticulous care given to each and every detail, down to the beer itself. Expect nothing less when it comes to South Park Brewing Company. “‘Innovate don’t imitate’ has been the motto since I began in these great beer-forward endeavors,” Blair said. “We aren’t a restaurant group, real estate moguls, carpet bagger or looking to cash in on a trend. We are industry leaders and innovators

Hillary got what she deserved.  And it could happen to you next!  Hillary's Celebration & Testimonial of The GreenHouse Group.        Volume 14 www..GreenMeansGrowcom 1(858) 863-0261 591 Camino De La Reina #103 San Diego, CA 92108 Hillary's Story of How She Got to "Home."   How Could This Have Happened?   Once upon a time there was a girl named Hillary who lived in a condo she bought as her first home with her dog, Wallace. Every day she wondered if NOW was the time to make the move and sell her condo to fulfill her dream of having a detached home of her own in the neighborhood she loved. One day, after looking online for months, she decided to reach out to someone she knew could help, which landed Hillary back in an Initial Consultation w/ Jesse to come up with the plan to sell then buy.  Because of that, we determined that there WAS enough equity in her home to sell – but we needed to work FAST.   Because of that, we got pre-approved with Dave, we put the home on the market, we sold it for FULL PRICE, ALL CASH in a week.   —> CLICK ON IMAGE TO VIEW VIDEO Because of that, we hit the home hunt sprinting with Carmen in the lead – and came across the perfect home!  Until finally, after a lot of

The December South Park Walkabout is coming soon, and this year, they’ve added something new. On December 1st, the First Light Ceremony will be held at 6:00 pm. On Grape Street Square the artist-inspired tree will be lit ceremoniously for the public to enjoy and to kick off the holidays. Following the tree-lighting ceremony, folks can wander around the adorable neighborhood of South Park enjoying lights, local businesses, and plenty of good food and drink. The most festive night of the year to do this type of thing is during the Winter Walkabout, this year known as, the Luminaria Walkabout. What’s a Walkabout you may be wondering? The South Park Scene website describes it as, “a fun-filled evening festival to introduce you to the shops and cafes of South Park. From Kalmia to Beech Streets, you’ll find shops open late, entertainment, specials, and surprises. Browse, explore, shop, and celebrate the independent spirit of our neighborhood. Free trolley 6-10pm.” The neighborhood lit up with festive lights is reason enough to come take a stroll. The Lumineria Walkabout is on Saturday December 7th, from 6-10 pm. See you there! Carmen
