$25k for First-Time Home Buyers in El Cajon

The City of El Cajon’s Housing Division administers several housing-related programs, one of them being the American Dream First-Time Home buyer Program.  It was launched in 2005 and this year has significant changes including increasing the down payment/closing cost assistance to, up to $25,000.   This program is for lower income households and requires City Approval, an 8 hour Homebuyer Education class, and a consultation with a participating Lender prior to making an offer on a property.
