Hey Gang! So you might be asking yourself, what are the Greatest Events for Memorial Day? Well, as it turns out, there are upteen hundreds of websites out there that are pushing their PAID sponsor events and businesses. So I will take the road less traveled, hop up on my little soap box and tell you what I think makes Memorial Day weekend great. And that is, carving out a few hours away from the parties and celebration and remembering the brave men and women that served our country and are no longer around to tell their story. I’m like most, I will be looking to maximize the fun factor this coming weekend. Have numerous activities planned, but I have found it too common for people to loose sight of the real reason for this weekend, and that is to remember the brave men, women, soldiers and warriors that have bravely served our country and have passed on. Now I am not trying to shame anyone into paying their respects, and attend every memorial day ceremony. But, I will guarantee you, that if you do attend one of these events this coming weekend, you will be glad you did, and you will become an advocate for others to do the same.

Neighborhood Insight: Pacific Beach The first week of the New Year is almost over and everyone is talking about new years resolutions. One of my resolutions is to better get to know the place where I live. San Diego. I figure what better spot to start is the neighborhood I live in Pacific Beach. So here are a few things that make up why I love PB. November Project. They pop up all over SD through out the week, but every first Monday of the month they meet up at Kate Sessions Park. I love the view you get from this park. November Project is a free fitness movement you can find all over the US that gets people moving and keeps them accountable with the social connections you get from this energetic group. After a good workout but even more after a surf session, I enjoy a burrito. My favorite burrito spot in PB is La Perla. You have to try the addiction. It is a carne asada burrito with bacon in it! If surfing isn’t your thing there is always the bay. I often go for a run around Mission Bay on the walking path. It is not nearly as crowded as the boardwalk and there is always something going on there. Beach volleyball, sailing, stand up paddle boarding, and at nights it is a perfect spot for
When a new community is built, living quarters are not the only buildings that are built; parks, recreations, schools, roads, commerce are constructed as well. The construction is financed through developer bonds which are then paid-off by those who benefit from the new construction. So, if you are looking to buy a property on a new tract where there are new roads, schools, malls, etc that means you will benefit from the common areas and will have to pay a Mello Roos Tax for the enjoyment of use; you’re paying your share just like your neighbors are paying theirs. The good news about this fee is that it eventually gets paid-off, the bad news about the tax; it will affect your purchase power. When getting pre-approved, your lender looks at your debt to income ratios and drafts an approval amount based on those numbers.
